No expectations of a recession near-term – FOMC’s D.Lockhart
Dennis Lockhart, President of the Atlanta Fed (2018 voter, centrist), sees a recession in the US economy as unlikely in the near-term.
Lockhart also added that he doesn’t see the Fed implementing negative rates in the future, while he sees China growing at a healthy pace.
He said USD has ticked a tad higher recently, noting the economy is not heavily dependant on trade and that net exports are now contributing to growth.
