UK construction PMI drops sharply in Jan

The construction sector activity in the UK economy dramatically slowed its pace of expansion and fell below expectations in the month of January, a fresh report from Markit Economics showed on Thursday.

The final Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) in the UK jumped to 52.2 points in Jan, after having booked 54.2 points in Dec. Markets had predicted a drop to 53.8.
